Khardung la is the highest motorable Pass in the world lies at 18,380 ft. it is an interesting drive via South Pullu. I was hoping to catch sight of the Red Apollo, an interesting butterfly found at this altitude, but alas no luck this time; that is reason enough for me to return to Ladakh some time to explore the area beyond Khardung La called the Nubra valley
